5 reasons Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns should remain a tag team in WWE

Ambrose and Reigns are no joke as a tag team

Ambrose and Reigns are a solid addition to the tag team divisionRoman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are not brothers in real life, however these brothers in reel life and enjoying a good careera individually in WWE. Ambrose is The Lunatic Fringe, WWE’s biggest rebel. He’s tough, he’s unpredictable, he’s a bit crazy and no one is capable of controlling him. When Ambrose sets his mind on something, he will not stop until he gets it. He’s one part Roddy Piper and one part Jake Roberts; he’s wild and insane but he’s also focused and extremely dangerous.Reigns is a very intense Superstar, a strong man with a hard edge that keeps him among the top bruisers of WWE. He makes no excuses for his shortcomings and he is not boastful when he dominates in the ring. Since he began his singles run in 2014, he has done nothing but improve, and he has become one of the hardest working guys in the company. There is no doubt Reigns is in it for the long haul. But when these two forces come together, they are magic. Reigns and Ambrose are perhaps the best babyface duo fans have seen in a very long time, and they’re only getting better. They bring the intensity of Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard along with the fun of DX, and they do it all as if they’re auditioning for The Expendables 4. Roman and Dean are entertaining, they’re crazy good together in the ring and there’s a lot more fun to be had if they continue as a duo. This is more than just The Shield revisted, this is a great example of two guys that are firing on all cylinders and having an absolute blast doing it. With that kind of fun, why stop now?

#5 They\'re a no-nonsense team

Ambrose and Reigns are no joke as a tag team

The 3MB had its moments of being fun. Los Matadores are a hit with kids because of El Torito. The New Day is hilarious and always puts smiles on the fans’ faces. But Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are ready to beat somebody up. It’s kind of their thing.

Variety is always good and this is true for WWE too. Not every Superstar can be the underdog like Daniel Bryan and not every Diva can be the boss like Sasha Banks. Fans want different personalities, different gimmicks and an assortment of characters that has a little something for everyone.

While the aforementioned tag teams all have some very entertaining moments, virtually every time they’re in the ring, a harder edge is needed. Ambrose and Reigns provide that edge and they deliver it every week.

It cannot be all fun and games all the time. There’s nothing quite like smash mouth tag team wrestling, and that’s back thanks to these two. Dean and Roman go full throttle and have no time for nonsense.

If WWE’s tag team division is to truly get over with fans again then hard-hitting duos must be featured. This lends credibility to not only the company but also to the tag team championships, which should be the ultimate goal of any pairing.

They may not be The Road Warriors but Roman and Dean know how to fight. And right now that’s what WWE needs.

#4 Dean has no direction otherwise

Sheamus vs Ambrose on SmackDown

Dean Ambrose is a fun character with unpredictability by the truckloads. Fans never know just quite where he’s coming from or what he will do next, and every time you think you have him figured out, he suprises you. Dean is definitely The Lunatic Fringe, and no one plays the part of the raucous rebel better than he does.

But a fun character does not necessarily equal a compelling character.

The fault for this lies in the booking, which has seen Ambrose go from challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to working Bo Dallas in a go-nowhere feud. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to Dean’s actions; just being crazy is not an exuse. WWE does not have a direction for him and even though he is always on top of his game, it’s just not enough.

However, working with Roman has changed things for him.

Now Dean has a real purpose and a real direction for his character. Every week he’s working with Roman and fighting the good fight against The Wyatt Family and anyone else that challenges them. He’s at his best with Roman and as long as they’re together, he has something to do that can showcase his talents and get him even more over, all at the same time.

#3 Roman is getting the rub from Dean

Roman Reigns is in focus thanks to his alliance with Ambrose

“Roman needs to look strong.” That singular statment has become the mantra of fans since late 2014. It’s a sentiment that has been repeated so often, it’s become a matter of fact and frivolity. Some fans want to see him succeed while others would love nothing more than to see him fail. Other than John Cena, there has arguably not been a more controversial character in recent years than Roman Reigns.

The notion that the company works to show Roman in the best light possible has gained even more ground thanks to his pairing with Dean. But honestly, it’s not a bad thing.

The fact is that Roman is here to stay. He may have been pushed up quicker than he should’ve been at WrestleMania 31, but since then he has improved both in the ring and on the mic. Reigns has shown a commitment to getting better and WWE has certainly shown its commitment to helping him get where he wants to be.

While some may not be very happy about all this, it’s a smart move by the company.

Developing talents and putting them in a position to succeed is important. Cena cannot continue to carry the roster alone and the company has a great need for more main event stars. Working with Dean helps Roman get over with the crowd, and when the time comes to split them up, he should look stronger than ever before.

#2 Their presence strengthens the tag team division

Ambrose and Reigns’ partnership is becoming a solid part of the tag team ranks

WWE’s tag team division rises and falls with the sun. One minute it’s exciting and worth the price of admission, the next minute it’s grown stale and in desperate need of rebuilding. Fans have endured this seemingly endless marathon of good and bad for years but it never seems to change. Despite how many times it appears the tag team division is getting back on track, it falls apart.

At this point, the fans are sick of it.

This is yet another great reason Dean and Roman need to continue together because right now, there is hope for tag teams once again in WWE. The New Day is on a monster roll, The Prime Time Players are solid in every way, The Wyatt Family has a powerful new member and The Dudley Boyz are back to wreaking havoc. Four top notch teams, one set of championship belts; only one thing is missing - a fifth great team.

Ambrose and Reigns are that team. They will beef up the division, making it much more interesting, and the matches themselves will be more fun than ever before.

Fans want their tag teams to be good and they want their tag team wrestling to be both intense and exciting. Dean and Roman will bring all of that and much more.

#1 They\'re better together than separately

Ambrose and Reigns win on SmackDown

This is the best and simplest reason of them all.

The fact is that Ambrose and Reigns are just better together. Fans sit back and speculate on Dean, questioning why he’s not farther up the ladder in the company. Even more fans ask what happened to Roman’s push and wonder if he will get a second chance at main event stardom. Both these topics constantly make the rounds and there never seem to be any easy answers.

But this solution takes all the guesswork out of it. This solution makes everyone happy.

Dean can continue to impress and entertain, doing so as only he can. Roman can get over thanks to his partner and grow stronger because of it. Fans are happy because this is as close to a Shield reunion that WWE will likely get right now, and there are many great memories from that run.

This may not be a long term answer but it’s good right now and it’s working on every level. Though The New Day has never been hotter and The Dudley Boyz are bringing fire back to the tag team ranks, there is room for one more main event level combo.

It’s good for the division, it’s good for both Dean and Roman and it’s good for the fans. This is a can’t-miss prospect and WWE needs to continue with this team for as long as it posibly can.
