Probably, the most shocking moment in WWE history!

The popular Punk Controversy at Night of Champions still makes our heart race, or does it?We all know that a good storyline makes or breaks WWE events. Many a time, the creative team of the biggest pro wrestling promotion in the world has given us some nail biting storylines. But then again, there have been some amazing storylines that didn't require any meddling of any sorts. It ran smooth until the makers had to barge in with a pathetic twist that just blew away all the expectations that fans had harboured towards a certain match. Basically, it ruins everything for those who religiously follow the product!Whatever may be the reason behind squeezing out all the fun from our favorite angles, we have decided to share 5 major times when the WWE spoiled a great storyline. Read on and let us know what you think!

#5 Ending The Undertaker\'s streak!

Probably, the most shocking moment in WWE history!

Three f-5s by the beast was all it took to take down the undefeated man at the WrestleMania XXX. For 20 years, the Dead Man had defeated every up and comer at WrestleMania and fans were pretty confident that Taker would quite easily defeat Lesnar and maintain his streak, with he conclusion would be pretty much the obvious, that was, 22-0.

But Mr. Mcmahon turned our expectations upside down when Undertaker’s streak ended.

Of course, that defeat left everybody stunned and the fans expressed their disappointment at the storyline. But we have got to say how loyal Taker has been to the promotion that made him the biggest superstar in WWE history by actually letting Lesnar break his streak!

#4 2001, Invasion

The time the McMahons almost nailed the storyline!

The crazy WWE fans were sure that they will get to see something WWE has never exhibited before at the Monday Night Wars ended. The WWE bought main competitors like WCW and ECW and got the fans excited about what seemed like a brilliant step!

However, the WWE left out more popular stars like Sting, Goldberg, Ric Flair etc and instead picked up mediocre performers with a fistful of a few main event level performers. Obviously, that just sucked out all the excitement right off the WWE universe!

Whatever expectation were left, were later drowned when both the alliance were led by Stephanie and Shane Mcmahon instead of the regulars, that were, Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff!

The stars of WCW and ECW were sloughed down by the WWE stars as if the former wrestlers were nothing but a set of fools. In the end, the storyline pissed off a million of fans across the world. The ego of the Mcmahon family and their federation was boosted, though!

#3 Daniel Bryan\'s position after WrestleMania XXX.

In 2013-14, after beating Triple H, Batista, and Randy Orton and winning the WWE Championship, Daniel was reigning supreme at the WrestleMania XXX but as usual, Stephanie soon stripped him off of his championship title.

What went wrong was instead of introducing a new heel, he was made to face the usual and expected Kane, and later was removed from TV following his injury. The worst part was when that when he returned to the event, he was brushed aside by the company and the fact that he never really lost the much deserved title, disappointed the fans all around the world.

Brushing aside the man behind the Yes movement? So.Not.Cool.

#2 CM Punk walking away with WWE Title.

And there he went,

There’s no denying that CM Punk was the most talked about WWE star during his infamous “pipe bomb’ promo on RAW, in 2011. He was to state that he would leave the promotion after he wins the WWE title.

He was supposed to claim his championship after Rey Mysterio, (who was to become the champion while Punk was removed from TV for eight days) lost the same to Cena and Punk had to have a match with the latter in the very same night.

But that story was completely screwed by Del Rio crashing in via cash in and Punk losing the title, which also led to the unnecessary feud with Kevin Nash at Night of Champions, and even after he had won his championship, CM didn’t get his much-deserved main event moment at the WrestleMania.

#1 Goldbergs short haul in the WWE.

And that's one 'wiggly Goldberg right there!

In the year 2003, when former WCW Heavyweight Champion Goldberg made his debut and defeated none other but the people’s champion, The Rock, fans had something real to cheer for!

The count of Goldberg's fans grew with each passing day, and we don’t know why, but suddenly, authority had the urge to add yet another segment which involved Goldberg wearing wigs because apparently Goldust claimed to be his close relative.

Along with that ridiculousness, Goldberg was also made to go up against wrestlers minimal credibility and calibre. After Triple H defeated him for the World Championship, it was only a year later that Goldberg was gone.
