Year after year, we look forward to playing with our favourite players on FIFA Career mode. There are some names on this list who are exceptionally good players, but since EA clearly mentioned that the ratings are based on the performances over the last 12 months, we feel that some of the ratings given to the players are not justified. With the FIFA 16 release just around the corner, we take a look at the top 10 underrated players in the game.

#1 Thibaut Courtois - Chelsea

FIFA 15 rating: 86

FIFA 16 rating: 86

Thibaut Courtois is currently the backbone of Chelsea football team. He kept 12 clean sheets throughout the season and kept Petr Cech on the bench who was left out of the starting lineup. The Belgian is rated 86 in FIFA 16. The undeserved rating of 86 for the tall Belgium keeper is unfair who played an integral role in Chelsea’s title winning season.

He is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he definitely deserves an increase in his rating. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has got a promising career ahead of him.

The 27-year-old striker has been highly criticised for his languid playing style and laziness on the pitch but his link up play with Ronaldo is top notch. He’s a clinical finisher on his day and is easily one of the best strikers in the world. He deserves an overall rating of 87 by EA Sports.

#9 Diego Costa - Chelsea

FIFA 15 rating: 85

FIFA 16 rating: 86

Diego Costa has been given an upgrade, but not enough by EA Sports. If it had at least increased to 87 it would have made sense. Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas were Mourinho’s big summer recruits and star players of last season.

The Chelsea striker led his side’s attack along with former club player Didier Drogba who played second fiddle to Diego Costa. He was Premier League’s third highest goalscorer in the 2014/15 campaign with 20 goals and could have gone on to score more if it weren’t for his frequent hamstring injuries.
