West Brom striker Saido Berahino tweeted against club chairman James Peace after he blocked the striker’s move to the White Heart Lane on the deadline day. Spurs had already had offers worth £18m and £22m for Saido Berahino turned down, and it emerged that one of the packages had been structured around payments of £3.5m each year for five years, which had served to infuriate West Brom and their chairman.
The English forward would not complete the move despite 4 bids from Spurs through the window. The tweet then leaves the Baggies and their player in a tough position.
