Road To WWE SummerSlam: Best way to book Randy Orton

Randy Orton went through a rollercoaster ride in the past few months as he went to the depths during his title reign but came back strongly with the reunion of Evolution. Though some may suggest that Orton is a stale character now, there is no denying the fact that he is still a main event talent.Orton maybe tangled with the Evolution for the time being but by the time of SummerSlam, WWE is sure to invest him on some angle which would let him flourish as a singles wrestler. We have already covered some of the big name in the Road to SummerSlam series and here is a look at the best way to book the Viper through to the next big thing after WrestleMania.

#7 Win against Shield at Payback

The Evolution reunion was made to look weak when they lost out to Shield at Extreme Rules. Though the WWE built them up strong in the segments prior to the match, the loss was a big blow for the wolf pack.

WWE is clearly going for a rematch between the two at Payback which the Evolution needs to win. The stable could go out doing some dirty deed to win the match.

Ending up on the winning side will give Orton some kind of momentum before his single run. To make him more vicious, WWE could bring back in punt kick and put Seth Rollins on the other side.

#6 Getting into the Money in the Bank match

After the loss against Evolution, Shield would want to get a rematch but instead will be put into the Money in the bank match. To make sure that the Shield doesn’t win, Hunter could add Randy Orton and himself into the mix once Batista is gone.

The Money in the bank man will thus be an extension of the feud between Evolution and Shield with the only twist being that it will be every man for themselves.

This stipulation sets up the stage nicely for the Egos of Hunter and Orton to blow up once it comes down to the middle. With the Shield out to end Evolution, it will make up interesting dynamics for the match.

#5 The Opportunity getting better of him at Money in the Bank

With the three members of Shield and the two members of Evolution fighting it for one briefcase, the match is sure to be a cracked no matter which the last guy is.

Once the match boils down, the members of the Shield could generate some kind of friction between them thus breaking their bond and fighting eachother.

While the Shield will be busy with eachother, Orton and Hunter could take their time to clean up the ring leaving the briefcase with a decision to make. Orton could then turn on Hunter to get hold of the Money in the Bank.

#4 The Explanation

After such a big swerve against Hunter at Money in the bank, the fans will be looking for an explanation from Orton which he will deliver on the day Money in the Bank.

Back on the day in which the Evolution was relaunched, Orton and Batista made it clear that what they wanted was the title. Hunter said that they’ll get the opportunity but never lived up to his word. Orton could point out this as his motive to screw Hunter over.

With The Shield breaking up, the three would fight with eachother while Randy Orton will be faced with the decision to face Hunter at Battleground due to the influence that Hunter has in booking the matches. He could also force Orton to put his briefcase on the line to raise the stakes.

#3 Triple H vs. Randy Orton at Battleground

The only problem that WWE might face will be to build up Orton as a credible face, but since Triple H is the one on the other side, it wouldn’t be much of a task.

And since it’s on a pay-per-view like Battleground, WWE wouldn’t have any problem if the idea flops. Orton and Hunter has had many epic battles in the past and they could find that chemistry back to give the fans a memorable match.

Orton can walk out as the winner to retain his briefcase making Hunter more frustrated and eager to settle the scores.

#2 I dont need a briefcase to get a title shot

Frustrated by his lose, Hunter can come out the next night and remind Orton that he doesn’t need a briefcase to get a title shot himself. Hunter could use his power to book himself against Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam.

However, Orton could make a move of his own and say that he never got the rematch that was in his contract at WrestleMania.

This could force Hunter to include Orton into the mix make it a triple threat match at SummerSlam for the title while Orton’s Money in the bank contract will still be intact.

#1 Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE title at SummerSlam

So Daniel Bryan will be once again in the odds stacked against him situation at SummerSlam with Hunter and Orton breathing down his neck. To make matters worse, Orton still has the Money in the bank contract even if Bryan manages to win the match.

The three could excel in the triple threat match and Hunter will be a better addition to the match that Batista was at WrestleMania.

Bryan could retain his title after a great match and after the match Orton could even tease a cash in of the Money in the bank which could end up with the singles feud between the two while Hunter can be taken off TV for some time.
