#5 Sable vs. Tori

Sable defended here Women’s title

Sable defended her WWF Women’s Championship against Tori. Sable came into this match with a lot of pride as her name was featured on the cover page of the playboy magazine, which was sold the most.

It was all Sable right from the start of the match as she attacked Tori even before the bell rang, which resulted in Tori taking a defensive stance. A lot of action took place outside the ring as the divas pushed each other outside the ropes on numerous occasions.

During the closing moments of the match, Nicole Bass interfered in the match and attacked Tori, taking advantage of the fact that the referee was down. Sable took advantage and delivered a Sable Bomb for the win and retained the title.

Winner: Sable

#4 Big Show vs. Mankind

Big Show makes his WrestleMania debut

This match between Mankind and Big Show was to determine the special guest referee for the main event between Rock and Stone Cold. Mankind took a severe beating at the hands of Big Show and was down for major spells of the match.

It was Show’s one mistake that brought him the loss. He delivered a Choke Slam to Mankind on the Steel Chairs which forced the referee to call it a DQ and declared Mankind as the winner.

After the match, Vince McMahon confronted the Big Show and slapped him. The giant snapped after this and knocked out McMahon with his monstrous fists.

Winner: Mankind

#3 Kane vs. Triple H

The Big Red Machine takes on the ‘Game’

This match symbolizes two things – betrayal and reunion. It was Chyna who sided with Kane during the beginning of the match and it was she that betrayed Kane at the end. After Kane delivered a Choke Slam to Triple H, Chyna entered the ring with a Chair in her hand assuring Kane that she would finish Triple H.

But she turned on Kane by attacking him with the chair and later handed it over to Triple H, who knocked out Kane with repeated chair shots. After the downfall of the demon, Chyna and Triple H reunited and things fell in place for the duo.

Kane was declared the winner via DQ.

Winner: Kane

#2 The Undertaker vs. Big Boss Man

Yet another win – The count moves up 8-0

In his 8th WrestleMania outing, The Undertaker competed against Big Boss Man in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ match. Boss Man initially attacked Undertaker with a nightstick repeatedly with an intention to bust Taker up, and he succeeded, as Undertaker was in a mess after the spot.

The Undertaker delivered a tombstone on Boss Man in a match that lasted nearly 10 minutes and conveniently won the match. improving his Mania record to 8-0. This match is more remembered for the segment that happened after the match than the in-ring action that preceded it.

The Undertaker signalled to The Brood as they landed on the cell and gave Taker a rope. The phenom used this rope and hanged Big Boos Man from the Cell, which till date is regarded to be quite a controversial segment, and is something, WWE wishes we forget.

Winner: The Undertaker

#1 The Rock vs. Stone Cold

You cannot ask for a better WWF Championship match! Can you?

Inarguably the best match of the night was the No DQ match between Rock and Stone Cold for the WWF Championship. After some marathon wrestling action for close to 15 minutes, The Rock delivered a Rock Bottom to the referee and Stone Cold delivered a Stunner to the Rock, but there was no referee to count.

A pissed off Austin later took a chair and made an attempt to beat the Rock, but got distracted by Vince McMahon.

Rock capitalized on this and delivered a low-blow to Austin. Vince joined The Rock in the ring and first attacked the referee. They shifted their attention to the Texas Rattlesnake next and the both of them religiously attacked Stone Cold.

Mankind blindsided Vince to make the save by shoving him out of the ring and seemingly taking control of the proceedings. Austin regained control and first took out Rock, stepped off a Rock Bottom and delivered a Stunner on the Champion for the win.

Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin
