Taker has also held the WCW Tag Team championship and Hardcore Championship once. He is a six-time WWE tag team champion. He won the title Twice with Big Show, once with Steve Austin, once with the Rock and twice with Kane.

Apart from these, Taker also won the Royal Rumble back in 2007.

2 titles outside WWE

While he had 15 championship reigns inside WWE, Taker had two reigns before joining the promotion.

The first ever major championship for Taker came in 1989. He was wrestling as The Master of Pain during that time and was being managed by Dutch Mantell (Zeb Colter). He defeated Jerry Lawler to win the Unified World Heavyweight Championship of United States Wrestling Association.

Lawler would later win back the title, but it was a good reign to say the least.

The other title came for Taker when he was wrestling as the Punisher. He won the WCWA Texas Heavyweight championship in the same year when Eric Embry forfeited the championship.

#2 31 Years Not 25

Six extra years

WWE is celebrating Taker’s 25th year anniversary this year.

It is to be noted that it is the 25th anniversary of his run in WWE and not his professional wrestling career. In fact, Undertaker has been a pro wrestler since 1984. He started his career at WCCW and then jumped to many other promotions before settling down in WWE at 1990.

He was initially introduced as Kane the Undertaker in a house show, but WWE later decided to remove the ‘Kane’ part. The official debut of Taker in WWE, as we know, came at the 1990 Survivor Series. And in 1984, his debut was a special one as well and that will be the talking point of our last slide.

#1 The untold debut

He made his debut against Bruiser Brody

The Survivor Series outing of 1990 is officially recognized as Undertaker’s debut in WWE but before he did that, his professional wrestling debut happened in 1984 as mentioned in the last slide.

And his opponent was apparently a legend who was widely recognized during the territory days: Bruiser Brody.

Brody, who is still categorized as one of the best brawlers that wrestling has seen, gave Taker the loss that day, but stepping into the ring with Bruiser Brody for a debut was indeed a big thing. Taker wrestled under the name Texas Red during that time and the match took place in World Class Championship Wrestling.
