5 reasons why WWE will always be a big man's territory

From the very early origins of pro wrestling as a whole, it has largely been a big man’s business.Men with a stature such as Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man Randy Savage have always thrived. There still may have also been a linear of smaller stars, especially as the business has progressed, but the big men have always had the advantage.Let’s take a look at 5 reasons why for the time being WWE will continue to remain a big man’s territory.

#1 Special aura

When guys like The Great Khali first stepped inside a WWE ring, there was a just a special type of aura that followed them. Unfortunately for Khali his lack of wrestling abilities eventually caught up to him. But stars such as The Big Show are continuing to amaze audiences with their sheer statue alone.

Even slightly smaller (but still huge) men like the Undertaker can impress the crowd with their height. The special aura these big men bring every time they perform inside the squared circle is just one reason why they will continue to prosper.

#2 Money drawing abilities

The special aura these big men carry with them is an important factor as to why they can be such good money drawing stars and of course many seem to forget that WWE is still a business so at the end of the day their aim is to make money.

These large mega stars almost unhuman like presence helps sell tickets so as a result it makes since that will continue to flourish. So until these big men stop drawing money they will remain as a force to be reckoned with.

#3 Dying breed?

Many have surmised over the previous years that big men are beginning to become a dying breed and this could be argued true. The faster paced exciting action typically more suited to smaller athletes is slowly taking over especially as WWE signs more talents from the independent scene where smaller men dominate.

However, it is exactly this reason why big men will prosper. They will now be able to stand out more in a sea full of sleeker superstars,

Also, Luke Harper is the perfect example of a big man still being able to execute fact-paced high-flying exciting moves normally reserved for smaller men.

#4 Vince\'s obsession

Another important factor to note as to why big men won’t die out for the time being is Vince’s obsession with the large, body builder type image. It’s been well documented and one look at the product over the years, it’s quite obvious that this is, in fact, true.

Vince still appears to have a considerable amount of power but as the control shifts from Vince to Triple H it’s likely that smaller sleeker athletes will begin to takeover (as in the ever growing highly popular, NXT)

#5 Believability

One of the biggest reasons why big men will always be a force to reckon with is the believability they possess. Obviously we all understand that pro wrestling is choreographed so we are able to suspend our disbelief as we watch smaller men conquer larger athletes not to mention that size isn’t everything but it most definitely does matter.

Take a look at any other combat sport (MMA, Boxing, etc.) where they have numerous weight classes, you would never see someone like Sheamus face someone like Dolph Ziggler.

The believability factor will always work in big men’s favour and help them to prosper in WWE for many years to come.
