5 things you probably did not know about Tyler Breeze

Rusev had the last laugh

Tyler Breeze and the gorgeous Summer RaeTwo weeks ago on SmackDown, Tyler Breeze made his stunning debut and started his journey with the WWE. It seems like Tyler is going to play Summer Rae’s boyfriend in his initial days with the company. The Canadian wrestler from NXT has got a lot of potential and that is something that fetched him a call to be part of the main roster. We might get to see a few bouts between Breeze and Ziggler initially which obviously would be interesting and the creative could slowly push him into the mid-card division. As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at 5 things that you probably did not know about this young wrestler -

#5 Lost to Rusev on debut

Rusev had the last laugh

Before making it to the WWE, Tyler Breeze worked for the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) promotion for 2 years (2010-2012). He won the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship and the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship once during this time.

On 17th November 2011 episode of FCW TV, Breeze debuted under the ring name, Mike Dalton and competed against Rusev. He lost to Rusev in that match. The interesting part lies here.

Today, both these superstars are on the roster and we might surely get a chance to see these two guys lock horns once again in the squared circle.

#4 Xavier Woods was behind this character

Xavier was the one behind all this

As a wrestler, the fans watch you only as long as you have something interesting to offer. If you become stale, that’s it. You get boos and negative chants. That is the reason why superstars constantly change their character gimmicks to make things interesting.

The same is the case with Tyler. He looks interesting and better than ever, but do you think this was actually the case with him a couple of years ago? Breeze was asked to change his gimmick in 2013 by the WWE Creative or else he would be released.

Xavier Woods came to his rescue and helped him out with some video editing software and that is something that changed his run in the company. This is what Breeze has to say about Xavier-

“I came up with three different ones. One was a snowboarder. One was a darker version of Mike Dalton, which I was at the time. And one was Tyler Breeze. As we were filming it, we were laughing our heads off…but I had eight other characters ready to go.

I ended up getting a couple emails back saying, ‘You might have something with this Tyler Breeze thing.’ None of it would have happened if [Xavier Woods] hadn’t made these videos. And he’s done a lot for other people down here too”.

#3 Theme Song

He sings his own theme song!

A theme song is something that adds to the wrestler’s charisma. Tyler’s current theme song is “#MMMGORGEOUS”. The most interesting part lies here. This song was sung by none other than Tyler himself.

You get to see very few people sing their own theme songs in WWE and Tyler was one among the select few. The lyrics of the song explain a lot about the attitude of this man. Most of the lyrics go on about the beauty, charm, gorgeousness and similar lines.

This guy is someone who is very self-obsessed with this ‘beauty’ thing and that is exactly what made him special on the roster today.

#2 Worked with Roman Reigns

Long long so long!

Before making it to the WWE, Tyler Breeze worked for the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) promotion for 2 years (2010-2012). During this span, he won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship once.

Any wild guesses on who his tag partner was? It’s the ‘Big Dog’, Roman Reigns. At that time, Reigns was working with FCW under the ring name Leakee and this was one of the highlights of Breeze’s career.

Roman is a dominant force in the WWE today and let’s see what happens to someone who comes from a similar background?

#1 Triple H was the mastermind behind the phone

How awesome does the phone in his hand look?

‘The Selfie Sultan’ looks incomplete without the cell phone in his hand. But do you know whose idea that was? Is the creative team behind this? No. It was the ‘Game’ who came up with this brilliant idea.

Initially, they thought of having a mirror but it was Triple H who pitched in with this key decision of using a cell phone instead of the mirror. And now we know how successful the gimmick has been. Didn’t the ‘Game’ make a game-changing decision?
