WWE Money in the Bank 2014: Superstar Ratings

The WWE fans saw another solid pay-per-view added to the archives after the company managed to pull off a solid show at Money in the bank which had all the essence of a successful mixture. As expected it was the ladder matches which stole the show while the Tag team title match between Wyatt Family and Usos also gave some competition to be match of the night. There were some pointless segments to be frank and some bad news regarding the situation of Daniel Bryan.John Cena winning the gold was another disappointment as the company simply wasted the golden opportunity that they had to elevate a new superstar. As a whole it was some good action nevertheless and here is a look at the Superstar Ratings for the night.

#15 Paige- 5

For those who didn’t notice, the Anti-Diva in Paige is slowly starting to come out. The aggression she showed against Naomi at the pay-per-view was something for which she was loved in NXT and though it was only on a small scale it’s still positive sign for the fans.

#14 Jack Swagger- 6

On a surprising note, Jack Swagger had some interesting spots in the ladder match which showed his powerful side. Swagger also got the usual chants from the fans and could be an expendable in the midcard if he is booked well by the writers.

#13 Rob Van Dam- 6

Rob Van Dam’s WWE career might just run out without one last shot in the main event. He had some good spots in the match and for a man of his age to pull off those was certainly impressive. Van Dam did the job well in all the constraints he had and his future is up in the air after this.

#12 Alberto Del Rio-6

Del Rio wasn’t one of those names that the fans wanted to see winning the title. However, they did expect some good action from the Mexican which he delivered. The sad part is that Del Rio will be back to being randomly booked after this short run in the main event.

#11 Big E- 6

Big E showed what Rusev does when he is hurt and almost ended up breaking Rusev’s trademark hold. If the company decides to push this angle further, the two could work on a longer match and entertain the fans provided they have more at stakes to fight for.

#10 Wyatt Family- 6.5

Bray Wyatt looked lost for most of the time during the Money in the Bank match while Luke Harper and Erick Rowan gave the Usos a run for their money. WWE did a lot of damage to Bray’s character by putting him in a match like this and will have to back up good in the near future.

#9 Rusev-6.5

The Bulgarian Brute was pushed to his limit by Big E as both superstars proved their worth on pay-per-view spotlight. Rusev showed that he has the potential to have a long run the main roster and give good performances like this rather than squashing jobbers.

#8 Cesaro-7

The Swiss Superman impressed with his in ring skills once again even in the time limits that he had. Cesaro didn’t get the big push that was expected and Paul Heyman might be a bit disappointed on how his client ended up at the pay-per-view.

#7 Sheamus-7

It’s not always easy to stand out from ladder matches but Sheamus managed to do it to some extent on Sunday night. Sheamus was the surprise package in the ladder match and the United States champion showed why he is still regarded highly by the creative team.

#6 Kane-7

Impactful is word that can define how Kane was at Money in the bank. He is nowhere near what he used to be in his prime, but the big red monster is playing out his character well. He was the one who changed the course of the first ladder match and almost did the same in second match to round off a good night.

#5 Roman Reigns-7

He was the fan favorite heading into the ladder match but Reigns almost ended up being overshadowed by all the star power that WWE packed into the match. The company also failed to put Reigns into a heated confrontation with Triple H making it a below average outing for Reigns.

#4 The Usos- 7.5

The Usos proved that they only needed some credible challengers to show what they are all about. It was one great match between the two teams and Usos now has some great momentum after dispatching the Wyatt Family. They are ready to face the next challenge which will most probably be Goldust and Stardust.

#3 Dean Ambrose -8

Many didn’t have their money on Dean Ambrose once the Shield split up but Ambrose is turning out to be the biggest break out star from the faction. Though he didn’t win the match, the lunatic was there to be seen and he was punishing Seth Rollins like he did some great sin.

#2 John Cena-8

It might be a much travelled path but apparently, Cena is the champion. This puts Cena back into the main event scene and since he has the title he is sure to get involved with the Authority. It wasn’t one of those epic performances from Cena but the win overshadows all the action that happened before.

#1 Seth Rollins-9.5

Cena might’ve won the title, but it was Seth Rollins who deserve to be the top performer of the night. He won the Money in the bank briefcase in typical heel style and also managed to deliver some great spots in the match. The future looks bright for Rollins after that win and WWE will have big plans for him after this.
