WWE SummerSlam 2014 : 3 Possible Endings for Jack Swagger - Rusev Flag Match

The battle between Rusev and Jack Swagger was one of the best angles that the company had during their road to Battleground. Both the superstars lived up to the hype with a good match at the pay-per-view and has earned themselves another go at it on a much bigger stage which is surprising due to the length of feuds that Rusev is usually involved in.It would be safe to say that this is Rusevs first real feud in his main event career as it heads to SummerSlam while for Swagger; this is a turning point of his career. The Patriotic scented angle had all the heat it needed for a good buildup and WWE took things to a different level when they made it a flag match.WWE has a roller coaster record when it comes to matches like this so here is a look at how they could present Swagger and Rusev at SummerSlam.

#3 Lana getting more to brag about

Lana is to Rusev as Paul Heyman is to Brock Lesnar, period.

The Ravishing Russian has been endorsing Rusev with passion and dedication ever since she was assigned as her manager. Till now she was given a lot to brag about the Bulgarian Brute as he ran over every jobber that was thrown against him.

A controversial promo in Battleground and Rusev struggling against Swagger has taken some sting off Lana’s promos but all she needs is another opening.

And if the company lets Rusev win cleanly at SummerSlam, Lana could come out next week and say out loud that the Bulgarian brute conquered the American flag.

There aren’t many other things that the company could do to increase the heat that Rusev is having from the crowd right now and a win over the Real American would set Rusev up well to conquer the next stage which according to the rumors might be the United Championship.

#2 Swagger strikes gold

As mentioned earlier, this feud is one of the most important feuds in Swagger’s career. He have been struggling to find a good platform after the tag team with Cesaro broke up and was booked randomly till he came across Rusev.

The face turn however did wonders for the former world champion and all of a sudden he was exposed to the limelight he once owned. Only problem with this was the push Rusev is receiving. So far, Rusev have been dominating his opponents and ends up winning the feud in the end.

If WWE avoids this from happening and lets Swagger take the win, it will push him back into relevance rather than wasting his momentum after just two matches.

This however, would push Rusev down the ladder to an extent but with Lana by his side, he won’t have much trouble in climbing back.

#1 A new foe for Swagger

One of the biggest take away from this feud is how effective Swagger could be as a baby face alongside Zeb Colter. His heel run had no momentum whatsoever but the turn made Swagger a mainstay in the WWE program.

The problem with the current setting is the way WWE is trying to put Rusev over. They can’t afford to bury the Bulgarian Brute after investing so much on him and they cannot also let Swagger’s momentum cool off.

So the best ending that they would save them from this paradox would be an outside interference which will help Rusev get the win.

This would continue the momentum that Rusev has while Swagger will have a new foe to aid his face run. There are some interesting names that could get the job done, but the pick should go for Cesaro who still has a lot of bad blood against Colter and Swagger.
