The 2022-2023 NBA season continues on Thursday, November 17th, with six teams on the schedule. Let's take a look at three strong team bets for tonight's action, featuring the Portland Trail Blazers, Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings.

Best NBA Team Bet #1: Portland Trail Blazers Over 111.5 Points (-120)

The Portland Trail Blazers have gotten off to a 10-4 start that has surprised many. The Trail Blazers entered the year expected to be fighting for a play-in spot, however, they currently have the best record in the Western Conference. Portland's success has largely been due to a top-ten defense. The Trail Blazers currently rank sixth in opponents points per game and seventh in defensive rating.

While their offense ranks 22nd in points per game and 12th in offensive rating, they have averaged nearly 110 points per game. Portland will be facing a 6-9 Brooklyn Nets team that looks to have figured things out, particularly on defense, after firing Steve Nash and naming Jacque Vaughn as their head coach. Instead, however, over the past two games, the Nets defense has reverted back to their ugly ways. After allowing 116 points to the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn allowed 153 points to the Sacramento Kings. While Portland may not score 153 points, expect them to score at least 112 points.

Best NBA Team Bet #2: Detroit Pistons +9.5 (-110)

The 3-12 Detroit Pistons are tied with the Houston Rockets for the NBA's worst record. Detroit hasn't exactly been competitive, either. The Pistons offense ranks 28th in points per game and 26th in offensive rating, while their defense ranks 28th in opponents points per game and 30th in defensive rating. Furthermore, Detroit is expected to be without two starters, Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Stewart.

The Pistons will take on the Los Angeles Clippers, who have had offensive struggles of their own, ranking 30th in points per game and 29th in offensive rating. The Clippers defense, however, ranks fourth in opponents points per game and second in defensive rating. While this would normally spell trouble for Detroit, the 8-7 Clippers are expected to be without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, which could prevent their offense from getting going. The Pistons are unlikely to pick up their fourth win, however, should make this game somewhat competitive. Look for Detroit to lose by no more than nine points.

Best NBA Team Bet #3: San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Kings Over 236.5 Points (-110)

The San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings are two of the NBA's bottom-five defenses. The Spurs rank 30th in opponents points per game and 29th in defensive rating, while the Kings rank 27th in opponents points per game and 26th in defensive rating.

While San Antonio's offense ranks 15th in points per game and 25th in offensive rating, Sacramento ranks second in both categories. Expect a high scoring offense where the two teams combine to score at least 237 points.
