Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres NLDS Game 4 Prediction, Odds, Line, and Picks - October 15 | 2022 MLB Playoffs

Division Series - Los Angeles Dodgers v San Diego Padres - Game Three
Los Angeles Dodgers v San Diego Padres NLDS Game 4 Saturday Night

The San Diego Padres will play host to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night for Game 4 of the NLDS. The Padres defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday to gain a 2-1 series edge. With a win tonight, they'll earn themselves a trip to the NLCS.

The Padres, who were tabbed as pretty big underdogs entering the series, have surprisingly won Games 2 & 3. Los Angeles not only dominated San Diego during the regular season, but they've also been great on the road this year. They'll need to win on the road tonight to force a Game 5, but it won't be easy, considering how dominant the Padres' pitching has been.

Joe Musgrove, who went 10-7 with a 2.93 ERA this year, will be taking the hill Saturday for San Diego. Musgrove dominated the Mets in the final game of the Wild Card Round, holding them scoreless and to just one hit over seven frames. That performance secured his team their place in this round, and now he has a chance to lead his team to the next round.

The Los Angeles lineup has really struggled since Game 1, and this year they've had mixed results against Musgrove, despite being the best lineup on paper all year. The Padres' right-hander tossed five shutout innings versus the Dodgers in late September, but prior to that, they scored seven off him in 12 1/3 innings. With the way Musgrove has looked recently, it could be another long night for Dodgers hitters.

Los Angeles will tab Tyler Anderson, who is carrying a 14-5 record and 2.58 ERA. He had a great year, but his club's fate rests on his shoulders. He has just one career postseason start, so it's possible nerves could kick in, but this would be the worst time for that to happen.

The left-hander's four final regular season starts were excellent, as he had a 1.50 ERA over that span, so the Dodgers will hope that he remains just as good tonight. Anderson faced the Padres four times this year, and he was pretty good overall, but this one game will be the most important start of his career.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres Betting Prediction

Both starters have had success against these lineups already this year, and we could see strong pitching performances once again. Even if Anderson gets into some trouble, Dave Roberts will go to his bullpen as soon as possible, as we saw Tony Gonsolin get pulled in the second inning last night. With two pitching staffs of this caliber, expect a low scoring Game 4.

Prediction: Under 7.5 (-115)
