Timberwolves vs Spurs Key Stats

Rudy Gobert, the tall center in his debut season with Minnesota, scored 22 points and pulled down 21 rebounds against the Lakers. He has had a significant impact, leading the club in rebounds in five of their six games. With a game average of 15.0 points and 15.2 rebounds, Gobert leads the NBA in both categories.

Karl-Anthony Towns, who averages 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, has more time thanks to his performance. Edwards, the team's leading scorer, averages 23.8 points per game. Minnesota enter this game with 118 points, sixth in the NBA, and will be playing San Antonio, whose defense is ranked No. 29 (122.0).

With 4:39 left, Chicago led 114-113, but San Antonio quickly regained control and never trailed again. Jakob Poeltl, a center, scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while small forward Keldon Johnson scored 33 points on eight of 19 shooting. With a game average of 23.7 points and 5.3 rebounds, Johnson is quickly emerging as one of the NBA's rising stars.

Devin Vassell, a shooting guard, averaged 19.8 points throughout the first four games of the season before suffering a knee injury and missing the next two games. His availability for Sunday night's game has been labeled as uncertain.

With 15.8 points and 11.0 rebounds a game, Poeltl averages a double-double, and guard Tre Jones chips in with 13.5 points. The Spurs, who have the third-highest scoring average in the NBA (119.8), will be playing against the No. 17-ranked Minnesota defense (114.2).

Timberwolves vs Spurs Best Picks and Prediction

Given that these sides have already played each other twice in the past week, this game will be interesting to handicap. Minnesota was a strong favorite in both games, losing one straight up and one time covering the spread.

The Timberwolves are expected to play a pretty low-variance brand of basketball that will succeed well away from home, and I will take them as smaller road favorites.

The Spurs will need to have another outstanding shooting day if they hope to pull off an upset since San Antonio will give them plenty of opportunities in the paint.

Instead of counting on the Spurs to continue hitting their outside shots, I would rather take my chances with Minnesota's superior matchup advantage down low.

Pick: Timberwolves -6 (-110)
