NBA Best Bets for Tonight: Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, and Portland Trail Blazers

Charlotte Hornets v Miami Heat
Charlotte Hornets vs Miami Heat

The NBA season continues on Thursday (November 10) with eight teams in action. Take a look at three team bets for tonight's action, featuring the Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, and Portland Trail Blazers.

NBA Best Team Bet #1: Charlotte Hornets vs Miami Heat Under 214 (-110)

The Miami Heat have struggled this season, as they sit at just 4-7 through eleven games. The Charlotte Hornets have been even worse, going just 3-9 through twelve games. Both teams' struggles are primarily due to struggling offenses.

The Heat rank just 26th in points per game and 19th in offensive rating, while the Hornets are 27th in points per game and 28th in offensive rating. Furthermore, both Miami and Charlotte have played above average defense this season. Miami ranks ninth in opponents points per game and 13th in defensive rating, while Charlotte ranks 14th in opponents points per game and 11th in defensive rating.

Expect a defensive matchup where the teams combine to score less than 214 points.

NBA Best Team Bet #2: Atlanta Hawks -1 (-110)

The Atlanta Hawks have quietly been one of the NBA's best teams this season, sitting at 7-4 largely due to their strong offense. The Hawks rank seventh in points per game and 12th in offensive rating. Their defense is just about the league average, ranking 20th in opponents points per game and 16th in defensive rating.

Their opponent, the Philadelphia 76ers, have struggled on offense, and that has only gotten worse with James Harden out. The 76ers are just 5-6, in large part because of an offense that ranks 24th in points per game and 13th in offensive rating. While Philadelphia's defense does rank sixth in opponents' points per game, they are just 19th in defensive rating.

Expect the Hawks to take advantage of Harden's absence by winning this home game by at least two points.

NBA Best Team Bet #3: Portland Trail Blazers +6.5 (-110)

The Portland Trail Blazers have been one of the most surprising teams in the NBA this season. The Blazers are currently 8-3, tied for second place in the Western Conference. Furthermore, Portland is undefeated when Damian Lillard starts and finishes the game, winning all six such contests.

Portland's success is thanks in large part to a top-ten defense that ranks eighth in opponents points per game and ninth in defensive rating. While their streak of winning games with Lillard playing may not continue on the road against a top-five New Orleans Pelicans offense, this game should, at the very least, be competitive.

If the Trail Blazers drop this game, expect it to be by no more than six points.
