Philadelphia 76ers vs. Houston Rockets Prediction: Injury Report, Starting 5s, Betting Odds & Spreads - December 5 | 2022-23 NBA Season

Philadelphia 76ers v Orlando Magic

The Philadelphia 76ers (12-11) are coming into tonight off back-to-back losses against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Memphis Grizzlies last week. Their opponents, the Houston Rockets (6-17) have had a rough season, most recently losing to the Golden State Warriors after picking up an upset win over the Phoenix Suns.

While the 76ers' defense has generally been good this season, they put on an especially poor showing against the Cavaliers last week, losing out 113-85. They bounced back from a three-game losing streak to start the season and will no doubt be looking to pull off a similar feat tonight against the struggling Rockets.

76ers vs. Rockets Prediction

The Houston Rockets have struggled defensively this season and have given up 120 points at a minimum in their past four games. Their sole win in that time came by just one point. Their first 10 games saw them go 1-9 and they've done little to significantly improve their defense whilst being hit-and-miss at best offensively.

The 76ers, meanwhile, are on a skid right now but have displayed generally strong defense this season. Offensively, they're not in the upper echelon this season but have performed respectably bar their recent thrashing against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Overall, they're the superior team heading into tonight, even with the potential absence of James Harden. Considering Houston's poor form, this is an ideal chance for the 76ers to bounce back and regain some momentum.

Prediction: 76ers -8 (-115)
