Sheffield United Football Club is a professional football club in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The club was originally formed in 1889 as an off-shoot of Sheffield United Cricket Club. Sheffield United currently takes part in the EFL Championship.
In the past, the club has won a host of trophies. They won the original Football League in 1898 and the FA Cup in 1899, 1902, 1915 and 1925. Additionally, they also made the FA Cup final in 1901 and 1936. Apart from their FA Cup exploits, Sheffield United made the League Cup semi-finals in 2003 and 2015.
Sheffield United, nicknamed the 'Blades', have enjoyed a fierce rivalry with their cross-town rivals, Sheffield Wednesday over the years. The rivalry is named the 'Steel City Derby' and several tasty encounters have been served by the two teams in the past.
The club is currently managed by Chris Wilder.
