Polish tennis star Agnieszka Radwanska emerged victorious at the Korean Open after she came from a set down against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to win 6-7 (6/8), 6-3, 6-4 in the final.

The world number four went down in a hard-fought first set in which Pavlyuchenkova saved four set points. After the first set which lasted almost half of the match time, Radwanska roared back in the next two sets to take the match.

“Especially after a great match, almost three hours of great tennis at a really high level, of course I’m very happy. It was a very close match — tight sets, all of them — but I was just a little bit better in the important moments today,” Radwanska said after the win.

Pavlyuchenkova, who had to come into the final just a day after her gruelling semi-final, said that she played some good tennis despite the loss.

“It’s tough losing this match after fighting so long and coming so close. It’s difficult and frustrating, but in tennis you can be up, then down and you loses some and you win some. I’m actually proud of myself. I had a great week. I showed some good tennis and it was a great final,” Pavlyuchenkova said.
