World No.3 Andy Murray has confirmed that his current coach and 2-time Grand Slam champion Amelie Mauresmo will be by side at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships, which begins at the All England Club on June 29th.

“Amélie will be at Wimbledon. But we’d never planned on her coming here this year,” the 28-year-old said, after a short practice session on Saturday.

The 35-year-old Frenchman, who is due to give birth to her first child in August, had a word with her doctor on Friday night and seemed glad enough that she wouldn't face any inconvenience travelling to London for the Grand Slam event.

Murray expressed happiness over Mauresmo being able to make it to his home Grand Slam and felt that it would also be good for her to get to know Jonas Bjorkman, who has joined his support staff as the assistant coach, before she goes away for a few months.

“It’s good. Obviously I like having her around the tournaments. It’s been, for me, a very good start to the year. I think it’s good as well that, before she is away for a few months from the team, her and Jonas [Bjorkman, his new assistant coach] can spend some time together.

“I would imagine that during Wimbledon Amélie will take the lead and Jonas can see how we operate a bit more as a team. We know each other a lot better than we did at this time last year. So I think she’ll be able to help more this year,” the 2013 Wimbledon champion said.
