Andy Murray moves into third round with a comfortable win

Andy Murray had smooth sailing in the second round on Thursday

World No.3 Andy Murray eased into the third round of the 2015 Wimbledon, with a comfortable 6-1 6-1 6-4 straight sets win over Robin Haase of Netherlands in Round 2 on Thursday.

The opening set saw both players won their first games quite convincingly, but it was Murray who took the lead in the third game, breaking Haase’s serve to go 2-1 up. The Scot then further built his lead, first winning on his own serve and then breaking Haase’s serve for a second consecutive time to go 4-1 up in the opening set. He also played some impressive shots, in the process, particularly in the fifth game.

He cruised past Haase in the sixth game, winning it without dropping a point to go 5-1 up. Serving to stay in the set, The German tried his best to pull a game back and stay alive, but the Scot proved to be too good for him in the end and Murray took the first set 6-1in a mere 20 minutes.

Murray carried the momentum from his opening set into the second, first winning on his serve and then breaking his opponent’s serve to go 2-0 up. Although Haase showed minor glimpses of coming back, Murray kept the pressure on him, to go 3-0 up.

Haase though pulled one back in the fourth game, winning it comfortably to make it 3-1. Murray though got back into the match, first by winning on his serve and then astonishingly coming back from 40-0 down to break Haase’s serve to go 5-1 up. The inevitable happened in the following game and Scot took the second set in the same scoreline as the first.

With his backs clearly against the wall, Haase began the third set on a positive note, winning the opening game on his serve to go 1-0 up. But he couldn't build upon that lead as Murray came back to win the next game to make it 1-1.

The third game saw Haase once again, win on his serve and take a 2-1 lead and despite Murray equalising the score, Haase pegged him back once again to go 3-2 up. Murray though, came back into set, first winning on his serve to make it 3-3 and then breaking Haase’s serve to go 4-3 up.

The match then became a matter of formality even as Haase tried to stretch the match and Murray moved into the third round with a straight sets win.

Final Scoreline- Andy Murray(GBR) beat Robin Haase(NED) 6-1 6-1 6-4
