India’s Somdev Devvarman, with his partner Rick De Voest of South Africa, sailed into the semifinal of ATP 250 Malaysian Open at Kuala Lumpur. In the quarter final, they overcome the challenge of 2nd seeded experienced duo of Juliean Bennateau and Nenad Zimonjic 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.

The match lasted for 1 hour and 12 minutes. Somdev and Voest served 3 aces and committed 3 double faults, whereas Julien and Nenad committed 4 double faults. Somdev and Voest won 2 of 5 break points.

They will face Pablo Cuevas and Horracio Zeballos in the semifinal. In the quarter final, Pablo and Horracio defeated Julian Knowle and Jurgen Melzer 2-6, 7-5, 10-7.

In the singles event of the tournament, in a second round match, second seeded Swiss star Stanislas Wawrinka cruised past Marcos Baghdatis 6-1, 7-5. Fourth seeded Jurgen Melzer sailed into the third round by defeating Mischazervev 7-5,6-4. Another seeded player Dmitry Tursonov defeated Pablo Careeno Busta 6-2, 6-4 in the second round of the tournament. In another second round matches, 5th seeded Julien Benneateau over came the challenge of Pablo Andujar 7-6, 6-2 and Joao Sousa defeated Pablo Cuevas 4-6, 7-5, 6-0.
