BNP Paribas Open - Day 6
Ons Jabeur will look to book her place in the quarterfinals of the Charleston Open

Day 4 of the Charleston Open 2023 will see the third round of the women's singles tournament take place as 16 players battle it out for eight quarterfinal spots.

Second seed Ons Jabeur will take on Caroline Dolehide while Paula Badosa will face Diana Shnaider. Third seed Daria Kasatkina, who has started the tournament strong, will look to seal her place in the quarterfinals when she takes on Bernarda Pera.

Ninth seed Madison Keys will face Magda Linette in one of the most highly anticipated matches of the day. The likes of Jessica Pegula and Victoria Azarenka will also compete in the third round on Thursday (April 6).

On that note, let's take a look at the women's singles predictions for some of the matches that will take place on Day 4 of the Charleston Open 2023.

#1. Ons Jabeur vs Caroline Dolehide

Second seed Ons Jabeur will take on Caroline Dolehide in the third round of the Charleston Open 2023. It will be the very first meeting between the two on the WTA tour.

Jabeur booked her place in the third round in Charleston with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Lesia Tsurenko while Dolehide beat Linda Fruhvirtova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.

Jabeur has had a disappointing start to the 2023 season, winning only five out of nine matches. Dolehide has mostly competed in the qualifiers of WTA tournaments this season and has won four out of five main-draw matches.

While the American has done well to reach the Round of 16 in Charleston, Jabeur should be able to get the better of her despite her recent form and book her place in the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 event.

Predicted Winner: Ons Jabeur.

#2. Paula Badosa vs Diana Shnaider

12th seed Paula Badosa will take on Diana Shnaider in the third round of the Charleston Open 2023. It will be the very first encounter between the two.

Badosa started the WTA 500 competition in a strong fashion, beating Mayar Sherif 6-3, 6-1. She followed this up with a 7-5, 7-6(6) defeat of Leylah Fernandez. Shnaider triumphed 6-4, 6-3 over Alycia Parks in the first round before stunning fifth seed Veronika Kudermetova by the same scoreline.

Badosa has won nine out of 13 matches this season, with her best outing being reaching the semifinals of the Adelaide International 2. Shnaider, on the other hand, has played only five main-draw matches in 2023, winning three.

Badosa has produced some promising performances lately and will enter the match as the favorite to win. While Shnaider will be high on confidence after eliminating Kudermetova, there is a good chance the Spaniard could triumph over her.

Predicted Winner: Paula Badosa.

#3. Madison Keys vs Magda Linette

Madison Keys will take on Magda Linette in what will be one of only two all-seeded clashes in the third round of the Charleston Open 2023. It will be the fourth meeting between the two, with Keys leading 2-1 in the head-to-head.

The American booked her place in the third round of the WTA 500 tournament with a 6-1, 6-2 drubbing of Hailey Baptiste while Linette came back from a set down to defeat the in-form Varvara Gracheva 6-7(3), 7-5, 6-4.

Both players have pretty much identical records so far this season, with Keys winning 13 out of 18 matches while the Pole came out on top in 14 out of 20 matches.

Keys got the better of Linette at the United Cup earlier this year and there is a good chance of that result being repeated at the 2023 Charleston Open.

Predicted Winner: Madison Keys.

#4. Daria Kasatkina vs Bernarda Pera

Third seed Daria Kasatkina will take on Bernarda Pera in the third round of the Charleston Open 2023 in what will be the very first meeting between the two.

Kasatkina booked her place in the third round of the WTA 500 event with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Madison Brengle while Pera beat Cristina Bucsa 6-3, 6-4.

The Russian has had a poor start to the 2023 season, winning only six out of 14 matches. Pera hasn't been in the best of form either, with eight wins from 15 matches.

While Pera looks to be in relatively better form at present, Kasatkina will be in good spirits following her comprehensive first-round win and should be able to get the win to move on to the quarterfinals of the Charleston Open 2023.

Predicted Winner: Daria Kasatkina
