Double for Dhruv Sunish

Bangalore - Dhruv Sunish, the 13-year old from Maharashtra, capped his fine run with a maiden title triumph in the boys singles of the Karle Infra ATF Under-14 Asian junior ranking tennis tournament here today as he scalped top seed and statemate Siddhanth Jagdish Banthia 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the final.

Earlier, second seed and 13-year-old Sama Sathvika of Andhra Pradesh defeated top seed Tanvi Bhat Hattangadi of Kerala 6-1, 6-2 in the girls final.

Sunish thus achieved a double, having partnered Banthia to claim the boys doubles crown defeating Adil Kalyanpur and Sai Pranav Ponaka 7-6 (5), 6-1 in the final Friday.

The girls doubles title went to Hatangadi and Aarja Chakraborty who beat Shaikh Humera and Shaikh Tahora 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 in the final.

Chief referee Joy Mukherji said that as per ATF rules, consolation rounds were simultaneously played along with main draw ties to determine the minor placing of other players. Megh Patel of Gujarat and Shivani Ingle of Maharashtra took the third place in the boys and girls singles, respectively.
