Federer in third round, Roddick and Djokovic walk into 3rd round too

Phewww!!! Are the players on the court sweating it out or what?! A question that’s on the mind of every tennis fan. Never has a Wimbledon before been so exciting and thrilling from the first day and first match itself. With the way the players are playing and the way the new talent is browsing through its opponents and giving them a tough fight, even if it means them loosing, they are definitely making their mark.

Federer

The first round match of the world number one was a proof to that. In the second round the world number one played Llia Bozoljac. The young fellow once again gave Federer a tough fight and went down to him with his head held high. The world number one again dropped a set to this young player. In the first set Federer managed to break the Llia’s serve easily and take the set 6-3. In the second set, it seemed like it would be enough even if Federer got his raquet to the ball. The young fellow across the net was serving superbly well and held his serve till the very end of the set to win the set in a tie-breaker; 6-7.

In the fourth set it was an easy run for Federer as he once again managed to break the serve of the Serbain and win the set 6-4. In the fifth set it was a battle between energy and experience. Federer showed and displayed class to take the fourth set and win the match in a tie-breaker;7-6. Federer managed to hold his serve in this match throughout. Not once was his serve broken and from the previous match this fact comes as a welcome breezer for all Federer fans. He won the match and walked into the third round 6-3, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6.

On the other hand the world number 5, Andy Roddick had a tough task as well. He was playing against Michael Llodra from France and had to really produce something extraordinary to defeat this 30 year old player. But, the American finally did triumph over this France fire in four tough sets. Andy came out victorious from being one set down and win 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 7-6.

It was an easy walk in the park for the world number 3, Novak Djokovic. Just the first set was a bit tricky for the Serbian. The set went to a tie-breaker, where the world number three won 7-5. To take a one set lead 7-6. The second and third set were an all Serbian affair. With strong ground strokes and back hands, Novak managed to walk all over the American Taylor Dent winning the match 7-6, 6-1, 6-4 in just 1 hour 57 mins.

With a lot of action in London, we are in for a real thriller and so be ready for some real upsets in the tournament.
