If all goes well with the French Open 2011, you may be able to see clashes of a lifetime in the semi-final with Rafael Nadal playing Andy Murray whereas Djokovic taking on Federer yet again. This however will happen only if things are to go right from the very start. For Andy Murray the draws have been a stroke of luck as he will face insignificant opponents upfront, however it is not so for Nadal.
Rafael Nadal will open his campaign against John Isner who will give him a good practice atleast drawing from his experience. Even though stats show that NAdal has not had much trouble playing Isner with a comfortable record head-to-head however the king of clay admits that, “Isner is one of the dangerous players, who prefer not to face in the first round of the Grand Slam.”
On the other hand, even Novak Djokovic will have to strain himself a bit to make a bid for the finals. He will have to face the likes of Juan Martin Del Potro and Tom Berdych. Richard Gasquet will also be in his misfortunate draw but the Spaniard is not likely to trouble the Serb much on current form.
However, the draw suggest that we have something to look upto before daydreaming of the big star studded semi finals.
