Day 2 at the 2025 Terra Wortmann Open (June 17) will feature first-round action, headlined by top seed Jannik Sinner taking to the court. The defending champion is slated to begin his title defense against Yannick Hanfmann.
Barring Sinner, the other seeded players who will be in action on Day 2 are fourth-seeded Andrey Rublev, fifth-seeded Francisco Cerundolo, sixth-seeded Ugo Humbert, and seventh-seeded Tomas Machac.
Let's take a look at some of the matches scheduled to take place on Day 2 of the 2025 Terra Wortmann Open.
Francisco Cerundolo vs Alex Michelsen

Fifth seed Francisco Cerundolo will begin his campaign at the 2025 Terra Wortmann Open against American Alex Michelsen. Cerundolo has won 27 of the 40 matches he has played this year, including his best run at the Argentina Open, where he lost the final against Joao Fonseca. He has also reached multiple semifinals in Santiago, Munich, and Madrid. His last event was the French Open, where he lost against Gabrile Diallo in the first round.
Meanwhile, Alex Michelsen's best result of 2025 was reaching the semifinal at the Delray Beach Open, losing against Miomir Kecmanovic. The American player has won a Challenger title in Estoril this year, defeating Andrea Pellegrino 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
This is the first time Cerundolo and Michelsen will be playing each other on the Tour, but being the seeded player, the Argentine is the slight favorite.
Predicted winner- Francisco Cerundolo
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Laslo Djere

Another first-round fixture on Day 2 at the 2025 Terra Wortmann Open will feature Felix Auger-Aliassime taking on Laslo Djere. 2025 has been a great year for Auger-Aliassime so far, as he has reached three finals in the year already, winning titles in Adelaide and Montpellier. He also reached the final in Dubai and the semifinals in Doha and Hamburg. His last event was the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, where he lost 4-6, 6-7 (5) against Taylor Fritz in the semifinal.
Laslo Djere's best result in 2025 was winning the title at the Chile Open, winning 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 against Sebastian Baez in the final. He also reached the semifinal in Buenos Aires, losing against Joao Fonseca. His last event before Halle was the Libema Open, where he lost against Mark Lajal in the first round. At the Terra Wortmann Open, he has won 7-5, 6-3 against Nikoloz Basilashvili and 6-4, 6-0 against Jesper De Jong to enter the main draw.
Djere has won both his matches against Auger-Aliassime, including a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win during their last meeting in São Paolo in 2019. However, this is the first meeting between the two on grass, and based on current form, the Canadian starts as the favorite.
Predicted winner- Felix Auger-Aliassime
Joao Fonseca vs Flavio Cobolli

Teenage sensation Joao Fonseca will have his grass-court debut at the 2025 Terra Wortmann Open as he takes on Flavio Cobolli in the first round. Fonseca has already won his maiden title on the Tour, winning the Argentina Open, along with winning Challenger Titles in Canberra and Phoenix. His last event was the French Open, where he lost against Jack Draper in the third round.
Flavio Cobolli is coming off a great clay-court season, winning titles in Bucharest and Hamburg with wins over Sebastian Baez and Andrey Rublev in the respective finals. His last event was the French Open as well, where he lost against Alexander Zverev in the third round.
Fonseca and Cobolli are yet to meet on the main Tour, but given the potential the Brazilian has shown against top-flight opposition, he starts as the slight favorite in the match.
Predicted winner- Joao Fonseca
Andrey Rublev vs Sebastian Ofner

Fourth seed Andrey Rublev will begin his campaign in Halle by taking on Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner in the first round. Andrey Rublev has reached two finals in 2025, winning the title in Doha with a win over Jack Draper in the final and losing the final in Hamburg against Flavio Cobolli. He was last in action at Roland Garros, losing against Jannik Sinner in the fourth round.
Sebastian Ofner's best result in 2025 was reaching the semifinal of the Geneva Open as a qualifier, losing against Hubert Hurkacz. He has already started his journey in Halle, winning 7-6 (4), 7-5 against Benjamin Hassan and winning 6-4, 6-4 against Justin Engel in the qualifying rounds to enter the main draw.
Both these players have not faced each other previously, but given the current seeding, Andrey Rublev is the favorite to win the upcoming match.
Predicted winner- Andrey Rublev
