Iga Swiatek's one-month doping ban has sent shockwaves across the tennis fraternity that just dealt with Jannik Sinner's news a few months back. Swiatek had the test prior to the North American hard-court swing following which she competed at the Cincinnati Open and the US Open, making deep runs in both events. However, she heard about her unfortunate situation on September 12
Fortunately, the ITIA put out the verdict that the Pole bore 'No Significant Fault or Negligence', however, she still had to face a minor one-month ban. Fans stormed social media to discuss the happenings of this case while many also came up with hilarious memes.

"These first few weeks were really chaotic" - Iga Swiatek opens up about never hearing about trimetazidine prior to her result
Iga Swiatek took to Instagram to break her silence on her shocking doping ban. She also clarified that she had never heard about trimetazidine prior to her positive result and admitted that she struggled to deal with the news initially.
"It turns out testing revealed historically lowest levels of trimetazidine, a substance I've never heard about before. I don't think I even knew it existed, I have never encountered it, nor did people around me. So I had a strong sense of injustice, and these first few weeks were really chaotic. We instantly reacted and cooperated with the ITIA," Iga Swiatek said.
The official WTA social media account also made a statement to express its support for the Pole.
