5 Indian men won their second round matches at the ITF $10K Futures event in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday to reach the quarter finals.
The only Indian in action to lose was wild card Vivek Shokeen, who was beaten by top seed Patrik Rosenholm 6-2, 6-2.
24 year old Sanam Singh won his 12th consecutive match beating sixth seed Kento Takeuchi 6-1, 6-4. Singh has won the last 2 ITF events in India in successive weeks.
Also reaching the last eight were third seed Karan Rastogi and Saketh Myneni, who will now meet each other for a place in the semi-finals; eighth seed Jeevan Neducnchezhiyan who will now meet top seed Rosenholm; and seventh seed Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan who will now take on unseeded Sravar Ikramov.
