Ivanovic, Safarova to open Fed Cup final

Moscow - The Fed Cup final between reigning champions Czech Republic and Serbia will start Saturday with a clash between former world No.1 Ana Ivanovic and Czech Lucie Safarova, according to the draw made Friday.

Saturday will also see former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic of Serbia take on Petra Kvitova, the Czech world No.8, who had to withdraw from the WTA Championships last week with bronchitis.

Kvitova faces Ivanovic and Safarova plays Jankovic Sunday, before a potentially climatic doubles clash pits the Czech pair Lucie Hradecka and Andrea Hlavackova against the Serbian duo of Bojana Jovanovski and Aleksandra Krunic.

Serbia is playing its first-ever final.
