Madison Keys was congratulated by many of her colleagues following her engagement to longtime boyfriend and fellow tennis player Bjorn Fratangelo.

Keys announced her engagement to Fratangelo by sharing a picture of the two holding hands on Instagram, with the caption reading:

"Forever."

Keys' post was soon flooded with congratulatory messages, many of them from her colleagues in tennis.

World No. 3 Jessica Pegula wrote:

"Bjorn lock it up."

Sloane Stephens, who is good friends with Keys and beat her in the 2017 US Open final, could hardly contain her excitement at the World No. 20 being engaged.

"Yesssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are getting married!!!!!!!!!!!," Stephens wrote.

Frances Tiafoe had his own way of congratulating his compatriot as he complimented her ring.

"That ring is tuuuuffff," the 24-year-old commented.

Other players who congratulated Keys on her engagement included the legendary Billie Jean King, Coco Gauff, Caroline Wozniacki, Bob Bryan, Donna Vekic, Caty McNally and Jennifer Brady.

Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo started dating in 2017 and also competed together in a few mixed doubles tournaments. The pair teamed up at the 2021 US Open and suffered an opening-round exit after losing 6-4, 6-3 to Ellen Perez and Marcelo Demoliner.

Madison Keys has had a promising start to the season, winning 10 out of 13 matches so far. The 28-year-old helped Team USA win the inaugural edition of the United Cup, where she won all of her five singles matches, albeit against lower-ranked opponents.

Keys then competed at the Australian Open as the tenth seed and reached the third round following wins over Anna Blinkova and Wang Xinyu. However, she lost 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 to eventual semifinalist Victoria Azarenka and suffered a drop in the rankings after being unable to defend her semifinal points from 2022.

The American then suffered an opening-round defeat to Jelena Ostapenko at the Qatar Open before entering the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Keys started the WTA 1000 tournament with a comprehensive 6-1, 6-1 win over Jasmine Paolini and followed it up with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over fourth seed Caroline Garcia. She then triumphed 6-2, 6-1 over Victoria Azarenka to book her place in the quarterfinals where she lost 6-2, 7-5 to compatriot Coco Gauff.

Keys is next scheduled to compete at the Indian Wells Open.
