Alycia Parks was expectedly joyous on winning the Lyon Open and said after her win over Caroline Gracia that it felt amazing to lift her maiden WTA title.

"It feels amazing to hold my first WTA tour-level championship trophy. Words can’t explain. Just last year, I was in an [ITF Challenger] $60,000 final, and now I have won a WTA 250," Parks said.

The 22-year-old said that she was focused on her service games and fought for every point throughout her match against Garcia:

"I made sure I focused on my service games today to get through the match, because I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy match. So just staying within myself, and fighting for every point, and that got me through the match."

Parks' exploits in Lyon saw her climb 28 spots to a new career-high ranking of 51st.

She will next compete at the Linz Open in Austria and will take on fourth seed Anhelina Kalinina in the first round. It will be the second match between the two, with the Ukrainian winning their previous encounter in Charleston back in 2019.
