The South American golden swing heads to Buenos Aires this week as the Argentina Open will be held from February 13-19, 2023.
Reigning US Open champion and World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz headlines the draw as the top seed. He hasn't competed in an ATP tournament since picking up an injury at the 2022 Paris Masters. The teenager is now set to make his comeback.
Top-20 players Cameron Norrie and Lorenzo Musetti are seeded second and third, respectively. Home favorite Diego Schwartzman rounds out the top four seeds. 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem received a wildcard, while defending champion Casper Ruud chose not to participate.

What is the Argentina Open?
The tournament first came into existence way back in 1927. Over the years, it has undergone a few changes. For a while, it was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit and the Grand Prix Super Series event as well.
It was also held as a Challenger tournament for a few years in between. It has now been a regular part of the ATP tour and is classified as an ATP 250 event. It features a 28-player draw and is played on outdoor clay courts.

The Argentina Open will be held at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Players
Carlos Alcaraz and Diego Schwartzman, seeded first and fourth, respectively, lead the top half of the draw. Both are the recipients of a first-round bye. The teenager could meet either Laslo Djere or Fabio Fognini in the second round.
Schwartzman's second-round foe could be either Pedro Martinez or Bernabe Zapata Miralles. Sebastian Baez and Francisco Cerundolo are also in this half of the draw and both will begin their campaigns against qualifiers.
