Coco Gauff made headlines after her stunning win at the 2025 French Open, where she defeated top seed Aryna Sabalenka in the final on Saturday, June 7. The tennis world quickly flooded her with congratulations, including messages from stars like Carlos Alcaraz, Martina Navratilova, and many more.

Gauff enjoyed a dream run in Paris this year, kicking things off with a dominant win over Olivia Gadecki. She went on to defeat the likes of Madison Keys, Ekaterina Alexandrova and others on her way to the final against Sabalenka, which was the second time the two had faced each other in a Grand Slam final.

Gauff stayed composed and calm throughout the match, taking advantage of Sabalenka’s 70 errors to earn a 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4 victory on Court Philippe-Chatrier. With this win, she became the youngest American to claim the Roland Garros singles title since Serena Williams in 2002.

Alcaraz, Navratilova, Sloane Stephens, Rennae Stubbs, and plenty of others were quick to send their love to Coco Gauff after her big win, especially Alcaraz. He posted a congratulatory message on his Instagram story just minutes after the match ended.

The Spaniard wrote:

Coco Gauff couldn’t hide her emotions after winning the 2025 French Open for her second Grand Slam title. She admitted she genuinely didn’t think she could pull it off and reflected on her tough loss to Iga Swiatek in the final at Roland Garros three years ago.

Gauff said during the victory speech:

"I honestly didn't think I could do it. I was going through a lot of things when I lost here three years ago. I'm just glad to be back here. I was going through a lot of dark thoughts. Three finals... I guess I got the most important win - that's all that matters."

She then showed true sportsmanship by congratulating Aryna Sabalenka on her incredible run to the final:

"Every time we play, it is a tough match for me, so congratulations. You remind me there is more to life than tennis."

The American will now turn her attention to the grasscourt season, with Wimbledon set to begin on June 30.
