Carlos Alcaraz's younger brother Jaime thinks of their grandfather after Spaniard's stunning French Open final comeback

Carlos Alcaraz successfully defended his French Open crown after a stunning comeback against Jannik Sinner on Sunday night (June 8). Reacting to the Spaniard's victory, his younger brother, Jaime paid a small tribute to the duo's grandfather.

Alcaraz's grandfather, who shares a first name with the tennis star, played a crucial role in the youngster’s rise to the top, having built tennis courts in the village of El Palmar. The five-time Grand Slam champion has also credited his grandfather's motto of the three C’s (which stand for cabeza (head), corazon (heart), and cojones (b***s)) for helping him get through some difficult matches.

After Carlos Alcaraz’s incredible victory over Jannik Sinner at the 2025 French Open, his younger brother Jaime highlighted their grandfather's three C's motto. The younger Alcaraz shared a post of his brother posing with the Roland Garros trophy on Instagram stories, and captioned it:

“🧠♥️🥚🥚.”

Alcaraz's younger brother Jamie is also a rising tennis star, having won the Ferrero Tennis European U-14 doubles title and the Rafa Nadal tour of Madrid competition.

Carlos Alcaraz extends his gratitude to his family after his French Open victory

Carlos Alcaraz entered the 2025 French Open as the defending champion and a strong contender for the win. The Spaniard began his campaign in Paris by downing Giulio Zeppieri, Fabian Marozsan, Damir Dzumhur, and Ben Shelton in his opening round matches.

He then overcame Tommy Paul and Lorenzo Musetti in his quarter and semifinals to set up an encounter with Jannik Sinner in the summit clash.

The final between Alcaraz and Sinner went down to the wire, with the former saving three match points to eventually claim a 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(10-2) victory after five hours.

After the match, Alcaraz thanked his team and family, saying:

“I just want to say thank you for everything to my team and family. I have the privilege to be able to live great things with you. I was lucky to have a lot of people who came from Murcia, from home, to support me. It is just amazing support you gave me today, during the whole two weeks, [including] the people who weren’t able to come but are at home. Thank you very much and this trophy is yours as well, so thank you.”

With his victory at the 2025 French Open, Carlos Alcaraz becomes only the third man this century to successfully defend the Roland Garros title after Gustavo Kuerten and Rafael Nadal.
