"Cry baby" - Liam Broady continues his hilarious Andy Murray feud after 2-time Olympic gold medalist turns emotional at Paris 2024

Liam Broady continued his banter with Andy Murray after the two-time Olympic gold medalist became emotional at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Murray shed a few tears after he and his partner Dan Evans reached the quarterfinals of the men's doubles category.

Murray, who made his Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics alongside Novak Djokovic is making his final appearance at the Games. This tournament will serve as his final event before retiring from the sport

The former World No.1, along with Dan Evans, Joe Salisbury, Neal Skupski, Katie Boulter, and Heather Watson, was selected to represent Great Britain in tennis at the Paris Olympics.

Initially scheduled to compete in both singles and men's doubles, Andy Murray withdrew from the singles event to focus on the doubles with Evans. The British duo kicked off their Paris Olympics campaign by defeating the Japanese pair of Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori 2-6, 7-6(5), 11-9.

Most recently, Murray and Evans triumphed over Belgians Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen 6-3, 6-7(8), 11-9 to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. Their next opponents will be Americans Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.

The former World No.1's compatriot, Liam Broady who exchanged hilarious banter on social media earlier this month with him, continued his feud with Murray by playfully teasing him and jokingly referring to him as a "cry baby."

Andy Murray holds the distinction of being the only male player to have won two singles gold medals at the Olympics . His first gold medal came at the 2012 London Olympics, followed by another at 2016 Rio Olympics.

During the 2012 Olympics, Murray was seeded third and defeated players such as Stan Wawrinka, Jarkko Nieminen, Marcos Baghdatis in the first three rounds. He then triumphed over Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-1 in the quarterfinals, overcame second seed Novak Djokovic 7-5, 7-5 in the semifinals and then defeated top seed Roger Federer 6–2, 6–1, 6–4 in the final to take home the gold medal.

In 2016, Anndy Murray was seeded second and he overcame layers like Viktor Troicki, Juan Monaco, Fabio Fognini, Steve Johnson, Kei Nishikori, and Juan Martín del Potro 7–5, 4–6, 6–2, 7–5 in the final to successfully defend his gold medal.
