Daniil Medvedev won his 18th career title at the Dubai Tennis Championships and his fourth in the ATP 500 series. The Russian will rise to the sixth spot in the ATP rankings on Monday.

Medvedev is next scheduled to take part in the Indian Wells Masters, the first Masters 1000 event of 2023. The 27-year-old does not have a great record at the event, with his best performance being a fourth-round appearance in 2021.

He was the top seed at last year's tournament and reached the third round after beating Tomas Machac 6-3, 6-2 in the Round of 64. However, Medvedev lost 6-4, 3-6, 1-6 to Gael Monfils in the Round of 32.

The former World No. 1 has a 6-5 record at the Indian Wells Masters and will be eager to do well there this season. Medvedev will be among the favorites to win the tournament given his current form, especially after beating Novak Djokovic in Dubai.
