Daniil Medvedev revealed that he utilizes his Western and Southern Open (Cincinnati Masters) trophy as a vase for flowers, to the tournament's great approval.

Daniil Medvedev is enjoying an exceptional run of form. Following a third-round defeat at the 2023 Australian Open, the former World No. 1 came back strong to win back-to-back titles in Rotterdam and Doha. He carried his form over to Dubai, where he defeated Andrey Rublev in the final to lift his third consecutive title.

During the post-match press conference, Medvedev was asked which trophies rank highest in his collection. The Russian admitted that his 2021 US Open trophy ranked foremost, just by virtue of being a Grand Slam trophy.

"So tough to say. I would have to say US Open, for sure, just because it's a Grand Slam, not even for the trophy," he said.

He added that while it was difficult to pick a top three, he would pick the Cincinnati Masters trophy next as he and wife use it as a flower vase whenever he buys her some flowers. Daniil Medvedev won the Western and Southern Open in 2019 to lift his first Masters 1000 title, defeating David Goffin in the final.

"It's tough to pick top three, but I'll pick Cincinnati because we use it for flowers, when I buy my wife some flowers, so that's fun," he added.

The former World No. 1 ranked his Dubai Tennis Championships trophy third as it was the most recent addition to his collection before admitting that he loved every single one of his trophies.

"Just because I won it today, let's put this one in the top three. But actually I love all of them," he said.

Unsurprisingly, the Western and Southern Open's Twitter handle expressed their approval of how the Russian chose to make use of the trophy.

"We approve of trophy/vase combo," the tournament's social media handle posted.
