Daniil Medvedev was recently tricked by a photoshopped image of himself and Andrey Rublev competing in a final on the junior tennis circuit. Denis Shapovalov and Bianca Andreescu were also taken in by the image, while Coco Gauff eventually guessed that it was photoshopped.

Following back-to-back titles in Rotterdam and Doha, Daniil Medvedev reached his third consecutive final on the ATP Tour by defeating Novak Djokovic in the Dubai Tennis Championships semifinals. On the other side of the draw, defending champion Andrey Rublev registered his first win against Alexander Zverev to book his spot in the final.

Ahead of the final, Daniil Medvedev posted a hilarious picture of younger versions of himself and Andrey Rublev holding their trophies aloft with completely stone-faced expressions. The World No. 1 made an ironic comment on how the pair were clearly 'excited' to be facing each other on the court.

"Even as kids we were suppperrrr excited to play each other," the World No. 7 wrote sarcastically.

After the Russian posted the picture, a fan (Twitter handle: '@glittersquirrel') admitted to photoshopping the image for their own amusement.

"Dear God I inceptioned Daniil Medvedev into thinking he was in a photo with Andrey Rublev that he was never in," the fan wrote.

Denis Shapovalov was not immune to the hilarious nature of the photo, as he commented with laughing emojis under Medvedev's post.

Bianca Andreescu was also amused by the picture.

"Loool this is so good," Andreescu wrote.

Coco Gauff admitted to being fooled by the photoshopped image initially and called it "gold."

"You fooled me. This is gold," Gauff admitted.

At the Dubai Tennis Championships, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev will face off in their first final against each other on the ATP tour.

Medvedev, a former World No. 1, ended Novak Djokovic's 15-0 win streak in the semifinals to reach his third consecutive ATP final. In the post-match interview, the Russian expressed his happiness at reaching the final despite a tough challenge from Djokovic.

“I managed to play a higher level than him today. In the second set I didn’t face one break point, but there were so many 30/30 games. But I managed to stay composed and I am happy to be in the final tomorrow,” he said.

Andrey Rublev, meanwhile, defeated Alexander Zverev for the first time in his career to book his spot against his compatriot in the final. Speaking on how he expected his match against Medvedev to go, Rublev joked that he expected each rally to last about 30 shots.

"Daniil is like to the one that counterattacks, waits for the right moment. I mean, with Daniil, it's going to be basically, if I'm going to play Daniil, it's going to be maybe 30 shots one rally," Rublev said.

Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev have faced off against each other six times on the ATP tour, with Medvedev leading the head-to-head 4-2.
