Emma Raducanu's former coach Dmitry Tursunov has stated that the Brit will figure things out and get back to top form as she is a smart player.

Raducanu made a sudden rise to the top in her early days after her remarkable title win at the 2021 US Open. However, the Brit hasn't been able to find her rhythm since the Grand Slam win, resulting in a series of poor results on tour.

Despite the sub-standard run, Tursunov is optimistic about Raducanu making it to the top level again. In a conversation on The Craig Shapiro Tennis podcast, the Russian coach opined that the Brit was 'too smart' not to figure out her issues and sort them out.

"I mean, with me, she was [a hard worker]. Sooner or later, she's just gonna sort it out," he stated. "She's too smart of a person not to sort out you know. She loves tennis too much not to figure it out."
"It's just a question of how long it's gonna take her and how difficult the road is going to be," he added" "But, I think she's the person who is willing to go a bumpy road."

Raducanu's 2023 season so far has been less than impressive. She endured second-round exits at the ASB Classic and the Australian Open, losing against Viktoria Kuzmova and Coco Gauff, respectively.

Dmitry Tursunov has observed that Emma Raducanu is a player who is very demanding of herself. During the podcast, Tursunov noted that despite her age, Raducanu pushes herself a lot.

"She's super young. But, she's very demanding of herself and she pushes herself a lot," he said. "She's super tough on herself but to me, I felt like she's an incredible and intelligent person."
"When you talk to her, you just forget, she's 19 or 20," the 40-year-old said. "And so, in that sense, I really enjoyed every second of it."

Tursunov parted ways with Emma Raducanu back in October of 2022. Since then, the Russian has been coaching World No. 9 Belinda Bencic.
