"Give Carlos Alcaraz extra rest" - Fans slam 'insane' schedule as Spaniard gets no respite before grass swing after French Open epic

Carlos Alcaraz fans were furious as they condemned the hectic ATP schedule after the Spaniard battled it out with Jannik Sinner in a historic French Open final duel. The tennis star will be seen kick-starting the grass season with the Queen's Club Championships, from June 16 onwards.

The five-set match between Alcaraz and Sinner was an over five-hour-long battle of tenacity, in which the Spaniard emerged victorious. However, it was a strenuous ordeal, both mentally and physically, for the duo. Hence, fans demanded that the schedule be slightly flexible for players who have had a hectic last few weeks.

Fans took to X to opine on the Queen's schedule. Some sympathised with the Spaniard and asked the tennis star to take a well-deserved break ahead of Wimbledon.

"Man, I love Queen's -- but the tennis schedule is insane," wrote one fan.

"This is not fair at all, I wish he skipped this tho, and just train on the grass instead, then gain momentum with the R1 of Wimbledon. Injuries are real.. don't this ATP people know?" wrote another.
"Man, I love Queen’s — but the tennis schedule is insane. How are we, as fans, supposed to process what we just witnessed in a week… let alone the players? This sport demands you to be superhuman.," opined one.

Meanwhile, the French Open summit clash was a titanic one, given the great display of character shown by both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

Carlos Alcaraz defended his title at the French Open in a historic contest that tested both the player's skills and strengths to the fullest. However, the Roland Garros champion did not hesitate to show his sportsmanship for his Italian opponent after the match.

"I'm pretty sure you're going to be a champion, not once, but many many times. It's a privilege to share the court with you in every tournament, making history with you," Alcaraz said of Sinner during the post-match trophy ceremony.
