Felix Auger-Aliassime happy to be back at the Rafa Nadal Academy

Felix Auger-Aliassime shared a glimpse of his return to the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca.

The Canadian had a fairly troubled run at the 2023 Australian Open. Auger-Aliassime was unable to close out any of his matches in straight sets and was eventually ousted from the tournament by Jiri Lehecka. His performance was unexpected given that he reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in 2022, where he lost to Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling 5-set encounter.

Coached by Toni Nadal, it is no surprise that the 22-year-old would choose to make use of the Rafa Nadal Academy for his training. Toni Nadal is the head of the Rafa Nadal Academy and he occupies the role of a consultant in Auger-Aliassime's team with Frederic Fontang in the role of head coach.

Auger-Aliassime took to Instagram to share a video of himself enjoying the view from his room at the Rafa Nadal Academy. He stated that it was a pleasure to be back at the academy.

Felix Auger-Aliassime will defend team World's Laver Cup title in Vancouver

World No. 7 Felix Auger-Aliassime will make his return to the Laver Cup this year to defend Team World’s title. Team World won its first ever title last year in London, defeating Team Europe 13-8. They will be looking to make a strong showing again this year in Vancouver.

The Laver cup announced that Auger-Aliassime would be back to defend his title in front of his home crowd.

The Canadian was effusive about his enjoyment of the tournament last year and said that he was looking forward to being a part of it again. He also said that having the support of the home crowd would be a big advantage for the team.

“We were able to get the win in London, but that was not easy. It will make a real difference to have the crowd behind us and I really hope fans come out in big numbers to witness Laver Cup firsthand,” Auger-Aliassime said.

The 22-year-old expressed that it will be a very special experience to play in front of his home crowd.
