Danielle Collins recently shared photos of her encounter with a pet dog while on her way to Paris from Strasbourg ahead of the 2024 French Open. The American shared how the dog lay in her arms throughout the journey.

Collins, who is having an amazing season, was just coming off a successful run at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, where she was defeated 6-1, 6-2 in the final on Saturday by her compatriot Madison Keys.

On Saturday, Collins shared a couple of pictures with the pet dog on her Instagram story while en route to Paris to participate in the 7th French Open of her career. The pictures featured her seated on the train with the dog in her arms. In one of the pictures, she captioned that she was making new friends on the train, and in another, she shared that the dog lay on her lap throughout the journey.

Collins has yet to clinch a Grand Slam title. The closest she has come to winning a Grand Slam was in 2022 when she was defeated by Ashleigh Barty in the Australian Open final.

At the French Open, Collins' best record is reaching the quarter-final in 2020, where she was knocked out by fellow American Sofia Kenin. She had earlier defeated the likes of Monica Niculescu, Clara Tauson, Garbiñe Muguruza, and Ons Jabeur.

Danielle Collins will begin her 2024 French Open campaign by facing off against 25-year-old Caroline Dolehide in the first round on Monday. Collins holds a 4-1 head-to-head record over Dolehide.

So far in 2024, Collins is having one of the best seasons of her career after winning two trophies. She first won the Miami Open, which was her first-ever WTA 1000 trophy, and then the Charleston Open. She defeated Elena Rybakina and Daria Kasatkina respectively in the finals.

Collins has also reached the semi-finals at the Italian Open (her best record at the tournament), and the quarter-finals at the Qatar Open.

Her opponent, Caroline Dolehide, has had a couple of good performances in the doubles category but has struggled with form in the singles category since the season began. The 2024 French Open will be her 13th WTA tournament of the season, and she has won seven matches and lost 12.
