Serena Williams recently shared that a heckler during the final of the 2010 Australian Open motivated her to victory. The American defeated Justine Henin in the final with a 6–4, 3–6, 6–2 scoreline.

On Wednesday, ESPN released a teaser from episode 4 of Serena Williams' docuseries “In the Arena: Serena Williams” on Instagram. The series details the key figures throughout her life and pivotal events in her career.

In the video, Williams takes fans down memory lane, exploring her 2010 victory at the Australian Open. In the third set of the match, she was down by a game when a man from the crowd said she wasn't a good player. This fired Williams up, and she went on to prove the heckler wrong.

“Australian Open 2010, I was in the third set I think I had lost the first game or whatever, and this guy was ‘like you can beat Serena she’s not all that good’, and when that guy yells at me, I am thinking to myself, first of all, seriously ‘I am not good, okay, we all know that not true, and I looked at the guy and I thought, okay, I am gonna show you what ‘good’ is.
"Nobody likes to be down and I think, I need someone to say something and then, it fires me up and I am like okay I am gonna prove you wrong, I kinda liked it,” Williams said

En route to the final against Henin, Williams defeated the likes of Urszula Radwańska, Petra Kvitová, Carla Suárez Navarro, Samantha Stosur, Victoria Azarenka, and Li Na.

Williams, widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, retired in 2022 after winning 73 singles titles, including 23 Grand Slams. Since her retirement, the 42-year-old has remained actively involved in the tennis world. She has been spotted supporting her sister Venus in her matches and is currently in Paris to witness the 2024 Olympic Games.

Among the many records achieved during her 27-year career, the Australian Open is one of the majors where Serena Williams has shown the most dominance.

Williams is the only woman to have won the Australian Open seven times in the Open Era: 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2017.

Margaret Court holds the overall record for the most titles at the tournament, with seven in the amateur era and four in the Open Era. In the doubles category, Serena Williams partnered with her sister Venus to lift the Australian Open title four times, in 2001, 2003, 2009, and 2010.
