Former World No. 1 Martina Navratilova has called out Donald Trump Jr. for killing a leopard in Zimbabwe and justifying it as legal in a resurfaced post. This came after former US President Trump claimed that Haitian immigrants were abducting, killing, and eating pets, without any credible evidence.
On September 10, the Republican nominee Trump, and the Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, faced each other in their first presidential debate, ahead of the elections in November. The candidates touched on several topics such as the economy, crime, reproductive rights, and immigration, among others.
However, the one claim that left the internet abuzz was that Haitian immigrants in Ohio were killing pets and eating them, made by former President Trump.
"In Springfield, they are eating the dogs. The people that came in (immigrants), they are eating the cats… They are eating the pets of people living there," he said in the debate hosted by ABC News.

Soon after the saga, Martina Navratilova commented on an X post, calling out Donald Trump Jr. for killing a leopard in Zimbabwe, as per a resurfaced post. Her fury peaked on noticing that the latter claimed the act was not unethical since the leopard was not endangered.
"This photo tells you absolutely everything about these assholes. Yup- only an asshole would kill a magnificent animal like this leopard. To see leopards in the wild is pure magic. And I hate these assholes for killing this one as well as killing other wild animals," the former World No. 1 wrote.
The original post, featuring the Trump brothers, Donald and Eric, holding the dead leopard, was captioned:
"When you're suffering from dementia, sometimes you get things mixed up," highlighting the irony of the former President's controversial claims.

After the first high-stakes presidential debate between the nominees, several people, including popular names have opined on the debate. Among them was pop icon Taylor Swift, who sided with Harris in the debate and endorsed her.
