Donna Vekic is currently practicing for her opening match at the 2023 Miami Open. She received a first-round bye and will play in the second round against Madison Brengle on Friday, March 24.

The Tennis Channel recently shared a short video on Twitter featuring Vekic. The two-minute video begins with her speaking about falling in love with the game early in her life. It then focuses on her return to court after undergoing knee surgery two years ago and finding her footing again.

The Croatian also spoke about her off-court interests, including her love for fashion.

The post was captioned:

"She means business both on and off court."

In the clip, the World No. 20 can be seen discussing her 2023 Indian Wells outfit in detail with designer Jaime Barker. She stated that she loves dressing up and that it was important for her to look good.

"Fashion has always been important to me. I've always enjoyed, let's say, dressing up off the court. But really, it was always important to me to look good on court as well," she said in the video.

Vekic has also combined her fashion sensibilities with business. She partnered with Uomo Sports to create her own womenswear line, Donna Sports. She is its brand ambassador and donned the label for the first time at this year's Australian Open.

Acknowledging her team in the video, Vekic said:

"I have an amazing team. Especially in tennis, when you have good people to work with, you don't really feel like you're working. You're just really enjoying," she said at the end of the video.

Donna Vekic will face Madison Brengle in the second round of the 2023 Miami Open.

Vekic has had a strong start to her season. She was a quarterfinalist at this year's Australian Open, where she lost to eventual winner Aryna Sabalenka. She had another quarterfinal finish at the Linz Open before lifting the cup at the Monterrey Open.

This is the first time since her return from injury last year that Vekic has entered the top 20 in the WTA rankings.

Madison Brengle's best outcome so far this season has been reaching the fourth round of the ATX Open and the Linz Open. The American is likely to receive good crowd support on her home ground.

The two players have met twice on-court and their head-to-head stands at an even 1-1.
