"He was my biggest support"- Aryna Sabalenka on her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis
During her US Open campaign, Aryna Sabalenka opened up on her struggles during the season, and how her partner Georgios Frangulis helped her during the difficult phase. She stated that the Brazilian always tried to keep her happy off the court by always engaging in some light-hearted activity.
"There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” said Sabalenka in an interview (via people.com).
The Belarusian added that Frangulis had been the most stable source of support during troubled times, and that she is grateful for his presence. His support helped the tennis star unwind from the rigors of professional tennis and focus on the larger aspects of life.
"But I make sure I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy my life. Even when things are going wrong in my career. So yeah, he was my biggest support, and yeah, really happy to have him by my side.” added Sabalenka (via people.com)
Sabalenka finished the season strongly, winning four titles, including two Grand Slams, and overtaking Iga Swiatek as the year-end World No. 1.
