Jannik Sinner had the whole Arthur Ashe Stadium to himself after he won the 2024 US Open. The World No. 1 celebrated his victory on the court with his girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya.

Sinner won his maiden US Open title on Sunday, September 8, beating home favorite Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in the final. With that, he became the first player since Guillermo Villas in 1977 to win his first two men’s singles Majors in the same year.

Jannik Sinner, who won the 2024 Australian Open and reached the semifinals and quarterfinals of the French Open and Wimbledon, respectively, is also the third youngest player in the Open Era to register at least two Grand Slam wins in a single season, after Pete Sampras and Rafael Nadal. He also created history as the first Italian man to reign supreme in New York.

The World No. 1 marked the special occasion with his two coaches, Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill, his manager Alex Vittur, and renowned British singer Seal, among others. His girlfriend, fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, also cheered him on from the stands during Sunday’s title clash.

Following his victory speech and on-court photoshoot, Kalinskaya joined the champion on Arthur Ashe Court. The couple, who is otherwise private about their relationship, were all smiles as they posed together with the US Open trophy. Jannik Sinner also fondly embraced the World No. 14.

Just days before he kicked off his US Open campaign, Jannik Sinner was caught in a controversy regarding his two positive doping tests from March.

The athlete was declared innocent of “accidental exposure” to the banned substance (Clostebol), but he faced severe online abuse for the positive result and the supposedly quick verdict.

Speaking about how he managed to shut down the outside noise to focus on his run at the US Open, Sinner said:

"What allowed me to do that was always my people who are close to me, daily; people who already knew me from when I was very young," he said in his final press conference.

Besides his coaching team, Sinner's girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya, who crashed out of the US Open with a third-round loss, stayed back to support her partner. She was regularly spotted in the stands during the World No. 1's matches.

"And also my family, and my team, and everyone who supports me daily. I always try to stick together with them, especially when moments are getting difficult and tough, because I know that they can help me in these moments," Sinner said.

Sinner has won six titles so far in 2024, which include two Grand Slams, two Masters 1000 events (Miami and Cincinnati), and two ATP 500 events (Rotterdam and Halle). He is expected to resume his campaign in Beijing (September 26–October 2), where he is the defending champion.
