Daniil Medvedev has stated that the recent rise in media attention on him is a consequence of the Russian playing good tennis on tour.

Medvedev's quality performances in recent times, along with the ever-rising fan support, have boosted not only his on-court but also off-court value, landing him several brand endorsement deals.

During a post-match interview with Tennis Channel after his quarterfinal match at the Miami Open on Thursday (March 30), Medvedev admitted that he has been enjoying media attention and improved brand deals, while claiming that he is not focused on improving his stardom.

"I like it, also I'm not especially looking for it. At least, that's what I think. I don't know if anyone thinks different but I'm not looking for fame or a lot of attention. So, when it comes, it just means that I'm playing good tennis because otherwise not gonna search it elsewhere," he said.

Further elaborating on the increased recognition, Medvedev maintained that he is pleased with the enlarged fan support in tournaments all over the world this year.

"So happy to play some good tennis, to gain fans all over the world. I feel like the support this year throughout all the tournaments that I've played have been amazing, meeting a lot of people and yeah just great energy and great vibe and happy to play tennis," Medvedev added.

Daniil Medvedev continued his form at the Miami Open, registering a comprehensive straight-sets win (6-3, 7-5) to brush aside Christopher Eubanks in the quarterfinals.

After the match, Medvedev expressed delight at having managed to turn it around against Eubanks, stating that his opponent was stronger in the opening minutes of the match.

"I felt he was doing better than me at the beginning of the match and I managed in the match to turn it around and I was putting in a lot of pressure on him. If not won that game on my serve in the second set, it could have been a better match," opined Medvedev.

With the win on Thursday, Medvedev qualified for the semifinals where he will lock horns with fellow-Russian Karen Khachanov. A win against Khachanov opens the doors for a possible summit clash with Carlos Alcaraz in what will be a rematch of the Indian Wells Masters final.

Defending champion Alcaraz will have to beat Jannik Sinner on Friday (March 31) to book a place in the final.
