Martina Navratilova expressed outrage at alleged transgender volleyball player Blaire Fleming's inclusion in the San Jose State University women's team in a post on X on Saturday. The American tennis icon has taken a firm stance against the participation of transgender athletes in women's sports.

Fleming's inclusion in the SJSU volleyball team has created huge controversies. Most recently, it has been reported that the Boise State women's volleyball team is set to forfeit their second match against SJSU.

According to Outkick, An SJSU spokesperson provided a statement from Boise State.

"Boise State volleyball will not play its scheduled home match on Thursday, Nov. 21, against San José State. Per Mountain West Conference policy, the Conference will record the match as a forfeit for Boise State," the statement read.

Outkick reporter Dan Zaksheske shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), prompting Navratilova, who has previously criticized Fleming's inclusion, to respond. She reshared the post and wrote:

"This is just crazy. And so divisive. One male body negatively affects and impacts so many females- how is this inclusive and progressive? Answer- it’s not. It’s the opposite- it excludes the female who didn’t make the team and is actually regressive."

Boise State is forfeiting a match against the SJSU women's volleyball team for the second time due to Fleming's inclusion. Despite being in a tight race in the Mountain West, Boise State has stood its ground. Notably, Wyoming, Utah State, and Nevada have also forfeited their matches against SJSU.

Early in September, Martina Navratilova reshared a post about Blaire Fleming, who plays for the San Jose State University's women's volleyball team. In a video included in the post, Fleming is seen striking the ball with fierce power and winning a point for her team.

The original uploader, Beth Bourne, captioned the post:

"Look at the power and height of this Male Player Blaire Fleming - from today's Iowa Hawkeyes vs. San Jose State women's volleyball game. Is it fair for these women who have worked so hard to be dominated by a mediocre male player?"

American tennis icon Navratilova reshared the post and wrote:

"Not just unfair but dangerous and not sustainable. At this rate so many women athletes will be erased."

In episode 276 of "Politics War Room with James Carville & Al Hunt" podcast, Navratilova argued that while identity is important, it doesn’t determine fairness in sports. She emphasized that sports should consider biological sex, as male and female bodies have inherent physical differences.

Martina Navratilova called for protecting female-only spaces in sports, asserting that, for the sake of fairness, certain categories should remain exclusive to biological females.
