Sabalenka took everyone by surprise with her unexpected comments at the Roland Garros press conference after losing the final to Gauff. The World No. 1 won the first set via tiebreaker but could not hold on as the American mounted an impressive comeback to win 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4.

During the match, Sabalenka was visibly frustrated by the windy conditions. In her post-match presser, she blamed the windy conditions and her own poor performance for her loss more than Gauff's display. The Belarusian's comments invited criticism from fans and tennis personalities alike.

However, Hassan also joined the list and slammed Sabalenka, but her comment referred to the Belarusian's looks. The Somalian model wrote on Instagram:

"No mistake was made, darling your lip filler just got in the way of your vision.🙄"

Her comment, which was posted under @abc_sport's Reel about the matter, was shared on X.

Following her tough loss in the French Open final, Aryna Sabalenka initially described the match as the worst final she had played. She attributed Coco Gauff's victory more to her own 70 unforced errors than to the World No. 2's prowess. This sparked backlash regarding poor sportsmanship.

However, Sabalenka took to Instagram the next day to walk back her earlier remarks.

"Yesterday was a tough one. Coco handled the conditions much better than I did and fully deserved the win," she wrote. "She was the better player yesterday, and I want to give her the credit she earned.”

Coco Gauff, speaking on Good Morning America, expressed understanding:

"I know she was probably a bit emotional … It was a tough loss. I was a little surprised by the comments, but I’m gonna give her the benefit of the doubt."

By acknowledging both her own failings and Gauff’s composure, Sabalenka showed maturity. With Wimbledon close to a fortnight away, the players will now prepare for the grasscourt swing.
